Many travelers have been looking for the best mode of transportation ranging from Public transport, private drive and self drive from the capital city of Uganda, Kampala and various towns.

KAMPALA
The distance between kampala to Sipi Falls is 326 Km by road. You can also find the distance from kampala to Sipi Falls using other travel options like bus, matatus , private travel vans depending on your travel options.

PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
Private Driver Ride ranges from 900,000 (237$) to 1,000,000 (264 $) per day depending on the capacity and model of the car you are hiring.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation is one of the cheapest and affordable mode of movement in Uganda. Besides being affordable, it’s as well tiresome, inconvenient due to the many stop overs and delays loading and off loading passengers. Despite of the delays, we have a local transportation company doing public transport from Kampala (Nakawa Shell petrol station,Jinja road) to Sipi Falls at a fee of 35,000 UGX per person equivalent to 10$ for one way. They are quite reliable and convenient if you are used to mingling with the Uganda’s public transport means and like adventuring this way, then this is a perfect deal for you.

JINJA
Jinja is the most crowded, tourism destination in the East. Source of the Nile River accommodates a number of hotels, activities like Bungee, rafting, kayaking, boat riding among others. Most traveller prefer having a stop over in Jinja before they continue their journey to the slopes of Mount Elgon, Sipi Falls, Kapchorwa District. Distance from Jinja to Sipi is approximately 198km which takes 3-4 hours depending on the transportation options.

PRIVATE DRIVE
Using private means Is more comfortable, convenient and time saving just incase you are having a short visit to Sipi Falls, Say 1 day visit and back to Jinja or spending an overnight.
Private ride ranges from 500,000 UGX (132$) to 800,000 UGX (211$) per day depending on the the type of the car, ie small car with 2-3 occupancy is more less expensive than the 7-9 seater Van.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
public transportation from Jinja is either by Bus, matatu or small car. Public cars usually ends in Mbale which is a 2½ hour drive from Jinja and the fees ranges from 15,000 UGX(5$) – 20,000 UGX (6$) per person to MBALE City .

BUSIA/ MALABA
Busia/ Malaba is a border point between Kenya and Uganda. It’s  approximately 147kms equivalent to 2½ hour drive to Sipi Falls.

PRIVATE TRANSPORT
It ranges from 300,000 UGX (79$) on a small car to 500,000 UGX (132$) on a 7-9 seater Van per day

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Approximately 15000 (5$) – 20,000 (6$) UGX from the border point to mbale town then from Mbale city to Sipi is an hour drive covering a distance of 60kms at a cost of 10,000 UGX (3$) – 15,000 UGX (5$). Per person.

MBALE TO SIPI
Mbale is one of the most developed cities in Eastern Region of Uganda lying on the slopes of Mount Elgon. It’s comprised of the Bagisu tribe who are the natives living around the slopes of the mountain.

PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
Private transportation ranges from 120,000 UGX (32$) per day to 170,000 UGX (45$) per day.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
It ranges from 10,000 UGX (3$) per person to 15,000 UGX (5$) per person.
